What do I wear for a cop, a lawyer, and a nurse without owning three costumes?

A plain solid shirt in a flattering color does all three. Suggest, do not costume. The rule is that you should look like you could be that person if someone handed you the jacket.

Navy or charcoal button-down covers cop and lawyer. For nurse, a plain crew neck in a soft color. That is it, that is the whole wardrobe.

Avoid actual uniforms. It reads as trying too hard and it makes the tape look like a bad short film.

Solid colors, no logos, no busy patterns, nothing that vibrates against the backdrop. Beyond that nobody is looking at your shirt.
