By take twelve it is technically cleaner and completely dead. I know this is happening and I cannot seem to stop doing it.

Cap yourself at five takes and send the best of those. The cap is the whole solution, everything else is willpower you do not have at midnight.

Change something physical between takes rather than trying to feel differently. Stand up, do it while making tea, do it to a different point in the room.

Rehearse the scene, not the take. Once you are recording you are performing, and performing twelve times in a row is exhausting for anybody.

Record take one before you feel ready. Very often that is the one.
