Craft: Teach me how to cultivate an eye and instinct for subtlety & specificity when it comes to acting & observing actors

As an actor, I am more inclined to make bold & eccentric choices. Larger than life. But I am not good at appreciating, noticing or employing subtle and specific choices. The small things that say a great deal. For those of you who do, can you share? How did...

Dramatic or comedy actor?

Hello everyone!  I hope you are getting ready for a productive week ahead.  I am curious.  Which acting genre are you better at and how did you discover which one you were better at?

In my soul I know I am an actor, but I don't think I can ever be one.

I live in Australia, I need to be an actor, no other job feels right and yet being in Australia means there are little to no acting opportunities. If there are any experienced actors in this sub Reddit or Australian actors that can tell me how the hell I find...

How important is it to have several voices

Now I am not a voice actor myself. As much as I'd love to and as much as I think I'd be alright at it. It's a decently expensive hobby and I'm still in education (unemployed) but one thing that made me curious was a specific aspect. To my knowledge you kind...

Is it worth leaving LA

Independent film needs to start treating actors better. This is INSANE.

I feel like we need to have an honest conversation about how independent productions treat actors, because some of this stuff is genuinely ridiculous. **I believe actors should be paid for their work.** I don’t care if it’s an independent film, a short film...
