Your agent is right. Do not ask. Not because it is rude, but because the answer is almost always "we went another way" and you will have spent goodwill to hear it.

The answer is usually something you could not have changed. Height next to the lead, a look that matched somebody else, a network note. Very rarely is it the acting.

Your agent can sometimes get real feedback and pass it on. That is a different thing from you asking, and it is one of the things you pay them for.

Getting to a callback with no representation history is itself the result. That office now knows what you look like when you work.
