Yes, because breakdowns are wish lists and casting changes its mind constantly. I have booked two roles written for a different gender.

Your agent sent it for a reason. Sometimes the reason is just to get you in front of that office at all.

Do it well or do not do it. A half-hearted tape for a role you are wrong for is worse than not submitting, because now they have seen you phone it in.

The one time I would skip is if it would take three days you do not have. Then protect the time for something you are right for.
