Everybody has done this. The recovery is to ask a clarifying question rather than guess, and almost nobody does that because it feels like admitting weakness.

A redirect is a good sign. They do not spend the time on people they have already ruled out.

The trick with an abstract note is to pick one concrete thing to change and commit to it. Slower, or looking away on a specific line. Do not try to change the whole performance.

"Lighter" almost always means less pressure on the words and more comfort in the body. Not faster.

Practice taking notes in class specifically. It is a separate skill from acting and it is the one being tested in a callback.
