Do I have to do the accent if the breakdown asks for one I am shaky at?

Role is specifically written with an accent I can do about 80% of. Do I send it and hope, or skip?

Send it. 80% at the tape stage is fine because they know a dialect coach exists. What they cannot fix is you not being in the pile.

The exception is if the accent is the entire point of the character. Then a shaky one is worse than a good neutral read.

Do not let the accent eat the acting. A perfect accent attached to a dead performance loses to a decent accent attached to a live one every single time.

I would also say do not list it on your resume until it is genuinely solid, because being called in on it and not having it is much worse than not being called.
