It is a good role. It is also four hundred dollars I do not really have.

    Ask first whether they will do it remotely. A surprising number will and nobody thinks less of you for asking.

    If it is a genuinely good role and a callback, I would go once. Being in the room after a tape is a different conversation.

    Ask your agent whether the production will contribute. Some will, particularly if you are one of two.

    Do not do this repeatedly. Once for something specific and important, fine. Four times a year is how people end up broke and bitter.

    I flew to a callback in 2019, did not book it, and got two auditions from that office in the next year because they remembered I had shown up.
