Every studio website says the same things. Transformative, professional, industry standard. I cannot tell any of them apart.

Audit. Any teacher worth paying will let you sit in the back of a class for free once. If they will not, that is your answer.

When you audit, watch the students, not the teacher. Are they getting better over the session? Do they look scared of the teacher? A room where everybody is terrified is not a good room, whatever the reputation.

Ask who else was in the class and what they are doing now. Not for the famous names, for the working ones.

Red flag: a teacher who spends more than a few minutes on their own credits.

Another red flag is any studio that wants you to sign up for six months up front with no refund.
