One year is standard for a first contract in most places, sometimes with an option. Three is long.

Look for the out clause. Most reasonable contracts let either side leave if you have not worked a certain number of days in a given period.

It is negotiable. Ask for one year and see what happens. If they refuse to move at all on a first contract, that tells you something.

Have someone look at it who is not them. An entertainment lawyer for one hour costs less than three bad years.
