I saved for two years to do this and now I am here and the days are just... empty. I submit on Actors Access in the morning, I go to my shift, I come home. Nobody is waiting for me to do anything.

Is this the part everybody means when they say the first year is hard, or am I doing it wrong?

This is the part. It is not a sign you are failing, it is genuinely what it looks like from the inside.

Put structure on it or the emptiness will eat you. A class two nights a week, a workout, one thing on the calendar that is not submitting. The submitting is the smallest part of the job.

Six weeks is nothing. I remember thinking the same at six weeks and by month eight I had a class full of people I still work with. Give it time to accumulate.

One practical thing: go be in the room with other actors even when there is no audition. Class, a workshop, a reading, anything. The isolation is the actual danger, not the lack of auditions.
