    It is worth taking if it costs you nothing, which it mostly does. It is not worth building your plans around.

    The value is that a real office now has your materials and a reason to open them. That is a genuine step.

    Be clear about whether you can still submit yourself and whether they take commission on things you find. Get that in an email even if there is no contract.

    Half the time it turns into a real signing after you book something. It is a try-before-you-buy for both sides.
