Going through every play by one writer in order, chronologically. It is a completely different experience from reading them scattered.

Not plays, but I read a lot of oral history and interview collections. Best possible source for how people actually talk.

Biographies of people who are not actors. Much more useful for character than actor memoirs.

I re-read one favorite every year and notice a completely different thing each time. That has taught me more than reading widely did.
