Move further out before you leave the city. An hour of commute is cheaper than starting over somewhere else.

Look hard at the survival job before the apartment. A better paying flexible job has solved this for more people I know than moving has.

I left at exactly this point in 2016 and I regret it. Came back four years later and had to rebuild everything.

Counterpoint to the above, I left and it was the right call, because I got to keep acting instead of keeping an address. Only you know which one this is.
