The value is that the choreography is agreed in advance so nobody is improvising in a vulnerable moment. It is the same logic as a fight call.

Worked with one twice. Both times the scene was better, not just safer, because everyone could actually concentrate.

If a production tells you they do not need one for a scene that clearly needs one, that is real information about the production.
