Nothing for months, then too damn much on one day.

I've been with my agent for about three months now, non-union, waiting and hoping to start getting union work. (Or like so many actors...*any work.*) This week I self-submitted for a non-union commercial project that promises to be a lot of fun, actually...

How to do a self tape with a super short script?

Hello, I’m thinking of submitting a self tape to a local commercial project. This is one of my first self tapes ever, and I really don’t have much experience in the acting sphere besides some classes, but want to get into it. I’ve watched a lot of actor’s...

How do you deal with working on an acting set for months?

I hear a lot of movies film five to six months while tv shows might film nine months or maybe a year. How do you deal with being on set for so long and working 14 to 16 hour days? I know a lot of actors dont have to go through that because a lot of actors...

Curious how common it is for working actors to also teach at the university level, long-term

Was reading about how Armin Shimerman (character actor, spent years on DS9) has been teaching Shakespeare at USC for a long time now, not as a guest speaker but as an actual ongoing program. Got me thinking about how rare that combination is, someone who's...

What to expect as a child actor?

So I'm just curious to know what the process of getting casted and working on set would be like for a minor and just what the process is like in general. Is accommodation getting paid for both actor and guardian? The flight? Does the family have to be...

Real-life actor couples, what's it like dating another actor?

I'm curious to hear about experiences from actors who are/have been in a relationship with other actors, whether you ever had to act together or not. Do you feel like it made your relationship better or more complicated? What were the biggest upsides or...

I Got My Acting Results And I’m Not Happy

So for context, I attend Identity School of Acting in London. I have been enjoying my time there and it was the reason why I moved to London before I even auditioned for it. It was actually because of Damson Idris’ performance in Snowfall that I decided to...

A tough decision for me to make :/

Hey! I'm a 20 year old aspiring actor and filmmaker based in Denmark. I’m in a bit of a tough spot, and to be honest, I’m really unsure about what to do. I’ve been offered a place in a physiotherapy education (last 3,5 years), starting this summer. There’s no...

Horrible Experience on local SF Bay Area TV Show Film Set

First, I got to set at 9 AM and was not needed for a scene until 6 PM. We got told we wouldn't be needed until 2 PM after our arrival on set which is already super unprofessional. **I submitted for a supporting role and was not informed I was an extra until...

I’m looking for a voice that has a younger feel, closer to a young adult male voice, while still being able to deliver serious and suspenseful documentary-style narration. The style is similar to Dr. Insanity — using real police incidents, bodycam footage...
