My experience with Steven Ditmyer/ Meisner International after deveral 5days intensives

I recently came across an older discussion about Steven Ditmyer and Meisner International, and because my experience has been so radically different from some of what I read there, I felt it was worth sharing it. I have now worked with Steve repeatedly...

SAG question and advice

A little about me to frame the question: I'm a Philly based actor (I have a "real" 9-5, I act because I love it. I don't need the income.) Over the years I collected 6 SAG waivers doing background work and have been SAG-E for the last 3 years. Other than...

School Project LA Interview

Hello! I'm a Media Studies student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and I'm looking to conduct an interview, either on zoom, teams, or even over DMs. It's about what it's like to live in LA as an actor; I'll be asking questions about things...

How much should I expect to pay for voice acting for a small indie visual novel?

Hi! I’m currently working on my first indie visual novel and I’m starting to look into voice acting, but I honestly have no idea what a realistic budget would be. The game is a psychological mystery/thriller set in 1998. The main character works a night shift...

If a role on casting websites says that the age is, for example, 18-21, does that mean they won’t consider minors, or just that you must be able to look and play the part?

Quick question regarding age in casting…. If I’m 17 years old and a role says 18, is it suggesting that the producers are only willing to work with legal adults, or just that the character’s age falls there and they would possible consider a minor? Thanks in...

Advice if I should email my agent?

Hi everyone! I saw a role on breakdown services that’s for a pretty big feature film and I matched the description for the role and self submitted myself to the role. It’s on Actors Access and I’m sure they received a lot of submissions considering that it’s...

Do your family members watch the shows/movies you’re in?

I recently went to a casting, and during the audition/casting process the directors mentioned that they were planning to add more kissing/romantic scenes to the project. Have you ever felt awkward watching a romantic scene you were in with your family, or had...

What made you want to be an actor or get involved in making films?

I know for me it comes down to the impact of storytelling and giving a great performance.  Movies like "Blood Diamond", Pulp Fiction", "F1", "Sinners" (that have become some of my favorites) have not only great stories, but great performances as well.

Hey guys, I’m a fairly new actor in Australia (less than 3 years of on-off classes, some gigs as model/extra/actor, etc.). I was signed to an agency for a year and it opened a lot of opportunities, but I had to take a step back from acting for a few months...
