Are hollywood actors/actresses actually the best actors or are the best actors/actresses on stage ?

Sometimes I wonder if the actors and actresses are actually good at acting or do they just the glory of "best actor" because they appear on screen more and we can see them more often. I literally don't know what good acting is though.
