Hi, I need your advice: which accent should I learn as a non-native English speaking actress? British or American and which one specifically? I've found info about the Transatlantic accent but I am not sure if it's not too old or not used anymore in film acting. My goal is to have as many opportunities in international productions as possible and to sound as a native English speaker. My English is fluent and advanced so I just have to focus on the accent. Has anyone had a similar dilemma? How did you solve it? How did you practice it?
So the whole goal with acting is to make what you’re saying seem natural right. What if you have a script that is terrible? Should a good actor still make the lines seem natural? Or are some scripts just so unnatural that even a good actor wouldn’t be able to make them sound good? I’d love to hear any thoughts.
I've heard of [Voice Actor Websites](https://www.voiceactorwebsites.com/), but I'm curious if y'all have recommendations for any other similar service providers?

Realistically... which one is more realizable?
Does it mean it takes takes ten years of consistent effort to be a working actor, to land a supporting role, lead role? etc. I’m curious to know everyone’s thoughts on the “10 years” discussion. P.S. Good luck everyone. You’re killin it and I believe in you.
I’m a beginner and want to take an online acting class since I can’t take in person classes at the moment... I want to take an online acting class for beginners and that’s is a reasonable price and that’s exercises me as an actor and I can get live feedback please someone help me with recommendations
I love acting and majored in it in uni. I’ve been working in medicine for a few years which has been unfulfilling for me personally and I want to truly give tv and movie acting a shot, as I always felt like it was my calling. My only concern is that, after moving to LA, there are all of these pseudo-famous actor/model/influencer people out there on Instagram creating their brands and hoping to make it in Hollywood. Is it really necessary to do the whole build an Instagram brand thing to make it in Hollywood? Or can I just take classes, do auditions like it was 20 years ago and with luck and preparation, hopefully make it big? TIA
Hello! My name is Dylan, and I am an aspiring actor with no real film experience, but I’ve been writing scripts for ages now. I have one that I want to bring to life but it would require some help with some fellow actors on in the STL area. If you are interested, DM me and I’d love to send details and can provide any info on questions you may have. Thanks, all love ❤️
I wish to become a voice actor. I even bought a Blue Yeti and starting paying acting lessons from a coach. I know I'm still have to learn a lot about the craft and I'm willing try new things but I've been having a feeling that I'm missing out on all the auditions from commercials to animation dubs to video game dialogues while I'm still learning the ropes of the craft from acting to using audio editors. It's just a feeling that I've been having for a good while that I want to get off my chest. I just need reassurance or something I don't know.
Use this thread to post your headshots for feedback, get info on your age range/type, find good headshot photographers, ask any questions you may have about headshots. If you are posting a DIY headshot for feedback, and not just a snapshot in order to get feedback on your age range/type/etc, it is advised that you do at least some basic research on what actor headshots look like--composition, framing, lighting. You will find a Google Image search for "actor headshots" to be very helpful for this. Non-professional shots are fine for age/typecasting; please keep in mind that one picture is a difficult way to go about this. Video of you moving and speaking would be ideal, but understandably more difficult to post. For what it's worth, the branding workshop at SAG-AFTRA recommends a five-year age range. That's inclusive, so for example 19-23, 25-29, 34-38, etc.
Actress in Toronto. I know that "pilot season" or "busy season" doesn't really exist/is a bit more nebulous in the streaming age now. I'm curious because an acting friend I talked to mentioned her agent said that June is coming up, which is a busy season. Is that just cause of summer?
I want to become an actor right and I really like musical theatre. But the thing is I am not only interested in musical theatre I am interested in all forms of acting and want to do tv/movies and voiceovers for animation. I am planning on a musical theatre major so that it can teach me everything I am missing. Will going this route damage me as an actor in these other categories or only strengthen me all around. I have also been writing a play with my friend for the past year and want to release my own comic book series. I have a new found love for writing. (I know that seems like a random thing to add but the point is that I am young and ambitious. I do not want to be limited.) but I guess what I am saying is that I know I can excel in musical theatre but I am just wondering if it will damage me.
Important: I am not a professional actor which is why I’m seeking input. I’m affiliated with an org that just landed a major commercial campaign with a global brand. The org asked me to audition for one of the spots. I got offered the gig (paid). We start shooting Saturday. Today is 6pm Wednesday and no zero details. When I should arrive, where I go once I’m there. For this reason I haven’t been able to book my travel either. The casting agency has been very non responsive (they are also a reputable agency). My question: is this normal? The lack of communication, last minute details or details in pieces is this how the industry works? Would love clarity of what my expectations should be. Also they asked for my information (including SSN) via email for the SAG paper work which was odd. Who ask for SSN over email? Would love your input/experience.
What is it called when voice actors record just the human sound effects? breathing, oofs, screams, etc.)
