Tips for actors submitting to Agencies: They click and read EVERYTHING when you email them

I was very fortunate to book a major feature film as a supporting character. The film is releasing soon so I started an agent hunting blitz emailing agencies in the core markets. We filmed 2 years ago but its only releasing now. I got a lot of replies, often...

Hi everyone just like the title states, I recently signed with my first rep and just received an audition through my rep for a series regular audition, like a popular fictional character on a huge distribution company(s) and I am so fucking excited but the...

Acting in South Florida

I've been out of acting and a little rusty for about 10 years now. My last audition was for Next Star Production maybe a year ago- kind of felt like it was not as legit especially when they wanted me to pay a load some for being selected. I'm on casting...

I'm going to shoot a strangling scene tomorrow for a horror short film

I'm the one getting strangled by my co actress in an act of vengeance in the climax, can someone share their two cents on how I should approach this to make it look somewhat realistic and not too fake?

Spotlight

Is it worth having spotlight if you do not live in the UK? I’ll be there next year for a bit (and I am eligible for a 5 year working visa as poppa was born in Scotland). I would love to work over there as an actress obviously and see where my grandparents...

How many projects/roles should I audition for at a time?

I recently got cast as a voice actor for a minor character in a small project I was really interested in, my first ever role! But my character doesn't appear till *kind of* late into the project.. And I generally wanna get my voice on that big screen as soon...

What was this actor using on set?

Hi all - I was working on a set today where the lead actor was puffing something into their eyes to make themselves cry, sort of like a tear stick, but it looked like a small mister or blower of air. It had a small pump with a red tip at the end to direct the...

Ban me if you want

So like ban me if you want, but I think it's kind of stupid that some people need voice actors but can't pay because they're broke. For example, I'm an indie dev Who's working on something right now And I don't have the money to pay. And I was about to make...

Does anyone else feel stupid, because of not having a "real" job

I came to the UK when I was 20 years old. I'm 29 now. I finished drama school here and got an agent. But I look at my non-acting friends and how they're doing, and then I feel the shift towards a more nationalistic spirit in the UK, and it makes me feel...

Beginner in France

Hi ! I’ve been thinking about acting for some time now, followed some theatre classes when I was younger but it wasn’t really amazing since it was simply at school. Now In my 20s, I was wondering if some of you knew what is ‘better’ as a way to start, or...

Paramount & WB Merger: What It Means

Haven’t seen a thread about this yet in the acting subreddit so figured I would start one to hear some opinions from people on what this means for Hollywood, LA, and the Film/TV landscape as a whole. I definitely have my thoughts but I must admit, I’m not as...

La La Land Scene - Acting Feedback Welcomed!

Hello everyone, I filmed this self tape of a scene from La La Land. I would love some feedback to see if I did a good job/have potential as an actor. I hate looking at my own face on camera so I feel like I can’t be unbiased in judging myself. I know I'm...

[Agent Advice] Got my submission report and numbers are drastically low. Agent claims it's my headshots, but I booked with them last year. How to navigate?

Got my submission report and my agent has barely been submitting me since April of this year. To quantify, I was only submitted to 7 projects from May-August 2026. Yes, summer tends to be slow, but not THAT slow. The projects I am being submitted for, I'm not...
