Questions for VA’s who also do IRL acting: Boundaries

I’m (25F) a voice actor, haven’t done much, mostly indie stuff. Very much enjoy it. I also do community theater. I believe doing theater has helped me be a better voice actor, but I don’t plan to do community theater professionally, for me it’s just a fun way...

About Auditions (Sorry)

I see so many actors obsessing over lighting, camera quality, backgrounds, framing, depth, and cinematography in their auditions. And honestly, I don’t understand why you put yourselves through all of this. None of this has ever been an actor’s job. I have...

Removed from an eco cast submission/invitation to submit an eco cast withdrawn… has this happened to anyone else?

I received an invitation to submit an eco cast self-tape this morning just to have the invitation withdrawn almost 10 minutes later… I know this industry is full of rejection and requires one to develop a thick spine, so to speak, but I can’t help but feel...

In my situation, I'm not sure there's a point to pursuing this so fervently anymore.

I've been at this for a few years now, and I have a lot of credits. Several dozen, in many areas. Animation, video games, audiobooks, podcast dramas, and so on. I've taken dozens of classes and workshops, I'm a member of NAVA, I'm on several rosters, and I...

Silly question - but do actors get given those long puffer coats you always see them wearing on set when it’s cold

When I think of an actor on set or a night shoot, I think of the cast in big puffer coats (maybe because I’m British and it’s usually always grey and wet here) Are they provided these? Just a fun litttle question from a curious girl
