Street Casting, do I need to tell my agent?

I am a newer actor and saw a street casting for a commercial that I want to submit to. Is this something I need to tell my agent about? I'd rather find out before than upset them and get cancelled or something. Thanks for your input.

So lately I discovered by myself that the track my life’s has been going lately it’s not what I want, I would love living from art like acting singing and dancing and I just know like how to dance in a normal way like I’ve trained some urban styles until...

    ATL classes like Graham Shiels?

Hi! I recently moved to Atlanta for reasons that are unrelated to acting lol but I was living in LA for a couple years and took classes at Graham Shiels Studios. I love the way those classes operate and am hoping to find something similar here! All of their...

    Just a little venting.

Just here to vent that a while ago I saw a Paul King project come through on actors access that I KNEW in my gut was for a role as Ginger Rodger’s based on the description and request for tap dancers. Sure enough I saw today that Sabrina Carpenter was cast as...

    Agencies in Australia

Hey guys, I’m a fairly new actor in Australia (less than 3 years of on-off classes, some gigs as model/extra/actor, etc.). I was signed to an agency for a year and it opened a lot of opportunities, but I had to take a step back from acting for a few months...

Can you change physical habits when acting?

I’ve noticed that I tend to keep my lips/jaw quite tense when I speak, and I also move my eyebrows a LOT. I’ve become very aware of it on camera, and sometimes it makes my expressions look unnatural to me. Is this something actors consciously work on and...

    NYC Project-Based Extras Experiences

Hello NYC-based background actors! Curious about the different productions currently filming with a lot of extras in NYC. There seems to be a huge uptick in work and wondering if there are any sets or projects to avoid or that are particularly good? For...

    Feeling lost with the industry

I'm a mid twenties actress, graduated from a reputable UK drama school 3 years ago. I was very fringe theatre "the CRAFT" oriented at the time and didn't really wanna engage with the agents industry side of it because I didn't feel screen was for me. About a...

Questions for VA’s who also do IRL acting: Boundaries

I’m (25F) a voice actor, haven’t done much, mostly indie stuff. Very much enjoy it. I also do community theater. I believe doing theater has helped me be a better voice actor, but I don’t plan to do community theater professionally, for me it’s just a fun way...

    Positive experiences working in Hollywood?

I carry a lot of narratives about Hollywood being an unsafe place to work from the media and what the general public thinks of actors. At the same time, I know it's possible to have a completely different experience. I know it's possible to genuinely enjoy...

What can I do in my position?

Hi everyone! I'm 14 and I'm from Russia. I really want to become an actor. It's been my dream since I was 5 years old. The problem is, in my town there aren't any film companies (at least I can't find any). At school we often perform plays, and I always join...

Am i too ugly to be an actor?

Looks are so nightly valued, I worry I’m not pretty enough to act. Edit: My high school director would constantly typecast me as the ugly comic relief or the old person. I was usually like a maid or something instead of a princess. She might’ve just hated me...
