Tattoos...
Do you have any? Has it ever impeded your ability to get a gig? I have a few, and I know they can be covered up, I just was wondering if it's ever affected your career.

Re: Tattoos...
Im about to get about 2 or 3 on my left arm, that will cover the whole thing basically..
I guess I should put my opinion on it.. As far as acting, I don't think tatoos really have an affect on most people's careers. Ive seen some of the finest girls with crazy like tatoos get cast in a top notch like scene. But, if you're tatted up throughout most of your body, extending to your neck and all that, like alot of people have, it would affect the roles you get assigned to.

Re: Tattoos...
I have one; a small inscription on my mid back..nothing signifigant. It's also white ink, so it's easier to cover as well.
A lot of "A list" actors/actresses have tattoos, and lots of them...such as Angelina Jolie, Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp..etc..
There is the possibility of not getting a gig due to the amount of tats you have, but they can cover them up. On the flip side, they can be used in the actual movie (such as Angelinas dragon tattoo in "Gone In 60 Seconds".

Re: Tattoos...
In this day and age tattoo's are quite fashoinable and so not such a problem and as someone else said if the scene/part requires it can be airbrushed out.
I have tattooo's myself (Though I dont think it would affect someone wanting to write i anyway hehe)
If you think about it the woman who sold her forehead as advertiing space to that large Casino Company on eBay recently could theoretically get parts in productions as a form of placement advertising.

Re: Tattoos...
I agree that any tattoo's can be air brushed out but using famous names as examples of people with tattoo's is kind of wrong because they are famous respected people so they can get away with it but when did Anjolina and Johnny Depp etc get their tattoo's?
Was it before they were famous or after? That they got their tattoo's.
Nothing against tattoo's but its worth thinking about it carefully singer Robbie Williams over the last couple of years has covered himself in tattoo's and loved them now he hates them and wishes he could have a clean slate of skin.

Re: Tattoos...
I've been wanting to get a tattoo of the theatre masks (don't they have a name for it? like, doesnt the happy face have a name and the sad face have a name or is it just "drama" and "comedy" because I thought I had read somewhere about that)... on my hip. it'd be something small and out of sight.
and I'm sure if wouldn't be hard to cover with makeup.

Re: Tattoos...
i think its best to get tattoos were there not seen in everyday dress. this way you can fit all sorts of roles. if visable tattoos are needed they can always be added for the character. real tattoos are far harder to hide.
