New York - also a hub for theater arts and like?

I've seen on tv, and read it on print about NY theater scene. There is a place where people would just choose any play they want in one place. It was like a mall of stage plays instead of movies.

Our local actors in the Philippines would go there and audition.

If nothing else, it would be a great tool to utilize as a central location to practice your auditioning skills.

NY has a lot of tv shows filmed there. You have to be really talented to make it in New York though because I read that the talented go to NY and the pretty go to LA. If an actors transfers in from NY to LA, they're considered more valuable because they have more talent.
