Default I want to be an actor but am I too old ?

Ok so I reciently got interested in acting and am woundering how difficult it would be to start. Im 16 at the moment but never really looked into acting before. I began to gain interest in the behind the scenes feature on dvds and really think I would love this. I know its not all fun and games, its hard work thats why im asking you'll. I have done other research on the internet which has also made me eager to learn.

If I started going to acting school now and when 18 go to Hollywood, what would the possibilities be like for me to succeed ?

Thanks,
Joe

You're joking, right? Too old at 16? No. Your chance of success? Depends on your talent, your look, your personality and your luck. But you can't win if you don't play.

Honey, acting is not age specific. There are always roles to play and venues to pursue. The older you get the sparser the juicy parts present themselves. But at my mid 50's I'm doin' fine!

I don't think anyone is too old to act, there are many people who found success at a later age and are doing what they love and are passionate about! I've also been in many acting classes and there is such a wide spectrum of ages in each one!! Don't ever feel discouraged!

Age isn't nothing but a number if you have talent, ambition, luck, and a look.
However, every one has a shelf life, but at 16, you have many years to study the craft. If you are really ambitious, start taking acting classes in school and see how much you like it.

Coming here to L.A. with acting classes under your belt is a great idea. There are great acting studios out here but also there are a lot that just suck money from the newbies that come into town and never really teach much but just let them practice scenes with friends, which is something you could do on your own.
Some advice once you get here is to get a headshot and a reel made and then find an agent as fast as you can with those things. At Flying Guerilla we cut reels for beginning actors and even shoot some footage with you so you have some professional looking stuff on your reel. Just google Flying Guerilla and you'll find us.
