Kate Winslet starred with him in Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind and she commented on how serious he was about his role. Most people assume he's only a comedian, but I like it when a comedic actor shows his dramatic side. I personally think the funnyman thing is just a front. He's had a history of depression so I think he uses laughter as a coping mechanism. I watched his biography on A&E.

Jim Carrey wasnt in his great acting job on The Mask. I was totally disappointed with that movie because he was "helped" by the computer 3D effects. | ||

I think he is a fantastic actor very funny on screen and off from what I have seen. I agree he does tend to do the same style of film but then many actors do that, stick with what your good at in other words. I don't think many actors could pull off some of the roles he has done maybe someone like Robin Williams but Carrey is very good at what he does.
