I'll give you another eaiser no-cost suggestion, and it is simply that well, there are a lot of actors that mumble when they talk or are very soft-spoken. I study actors in movies and out of movies, the differences in their mannerisms and I come up finding quite a lot different. One example I will make is of Hayden Christensen (because he is my 2nd fav actor I watch him a lot). On screen he is a powerful person, dedicated, motivated, able-to-be heard and understood. Off screen, like when he's on a talk show, he mumbles, his voice is low, and he is quite the shy guy. He's a naturally quiet guy. But his dedication to finding out about his characters is amazing and it gives him the power to change from his norm and be strident if need be.
So my solution to your problem doesnt need to come from a professional but it will take work. If pronunciation or diction is the problem, look in the dictionary for the words and practice them. Sounds silly but it works. Then for the mumbling problem, read your fav book out loud to yourself. Get into it. Read it like you were living it. Practice your vocals on that, and you wont need any professional. Find what makes breathing easiet and practice doing the ins-and-outs. Simple basics really. So have a go by yourself, or go for the voice coach. Up to you.
Hope this helps. Ask if you need anything else.
