be careful. its dangerous. i turned myself into james dean 25 years ago and then got into john belushi and changed myself onto him. and it went on from there into other actors who i emulated. thisis no joke.it wastheexact same thingasthe2guysi just mentioned.not copy versions like alot of actors do. im writing to tell you the key things if you wnat to be a grreat or goodone i guess also . i specialize in badboy actors. charater actors. the most talented ones theres ever benn on the siver screen. but i think the same rules apply toall types of acting, even personality actors which i had nodesireto be. if you want to knowthe secrets let me know. thats why im writing this. | ||

I agree ceno....defining yourself like that only limits your potential. If you are a GOOD actor, you will work. As long as you know your type. Fat guys don't play skinny guys (unless you are Tom Hanks and they'll pay you to lose the weight). | ||

the thing is up to now a lot of the characters i've played have had similar parts. i mean the stories are very different but the characters i get, i dunno, i just dont think ive had an adventurous role yet! nothing's really stretched me if you know what i mean. i know i'm very capable of other roles, i've just not had any yet. but there's time! maybe i've been typecast? who knows? | ||

Personally, I think that unless you are Johnny Depp, or Dustin Hoffman (actors who have bankability and are very well known), the roles we are going to play are going to be those that we LOOK like. I am tall and lanky and will NEVER go out for a gangster role...even if I wanted to play one. There are just too many good actors who actually look like gangsters. That being said, THOSE guys will most likely never play a naive, innocent, pushover....which are the roles that I will play. However, if you are seeking those roles in smaller theatres with more experimental attitudes and less of a focus on making money, then there's more of an opporunity to stretch. | ||

you want to knowone of the real secretsis. perspective change. this is what will make you stand out to beat the rest. stage precense end positvethings. you haveto change your perspectiveand thats not easy yo do. i will tell you how. but i want to sendyou privatemessagess so you dont get disracted by someone elses comments. youneed to really listen to what i say. or forget it.rember what isaid. i turned myself into james dean at first and then john belushi second. andthen other ones.thisis no joke or a lie. the EXACT same thing or talent that is. so i must knowa littlemore than thanthe average acting teacher.you should emulate someone for starters and the shouls be brilliant at acting that is/imean you dont want to | ||

Personality actor: Tom Cruise, Matthew McConaughey, (actors who are pretty much the SAME in every role, but have charismatic personalities.) Character Actor: Johnny Depp, Dustin Hoffman (actors who are COMPLETELY different in every role) That's my take, at least for mainstream tv and movies. Theatre can be different depending on the size of the production. | ||
