I thought it might be nice to have a forum for monologues and other material you'd need at an audition...monologues mainly though. Maybe a subforum incase anyone here writes their own and would like to share and recieve feedback?

I was thinking of writing a few, I dont know about anyone else..but this idea could also be turned in to a general portfolio building forum..everything from preparing to audition, organizing your portfolio, staying up to date with expectations, finding good material to read from and so on...

although can people really use self-written monologues in auditions? I thought directors preferred it to be from a play...

That's true, but a lot of people like to write their own. It also depends on the audition..like in highschool if there's an open audition you can usually use whatever monologue you want. And unique ones are good for acting classes.)

That would be a great idea for any budding writers amongst Actors Forum Members. It would be good to have somewhere for writers to get feedback from actors on the boards.

ya good idea...me also have an suggestion like asking people to write short stories and select the best one for a month
