Hi all,
My name is Jenny, I just made the HUGE move from SC to NY. I am currently staying with a relative about 2 hours from the city until I get settled. I went on a few interviews in the city and quickly realized that I have no idea what I'm doing

), lol. I almost accepted an Admin job that was a 9-5 and I almost moved into an apartment in Brooklyn. But then I realized that I would never have time to go on auditions with that type of job. I looked into serving/hostessing but found out that hostesses don't make enough money for me to pay my rent and restaurants in the city only want to hire servers with "NYC experience" (which I do not have). So I decided (simply because I needed some kind of income in a hurry) to just get a job waitressing down the street from my relatives house for the time being.
I have several questions, a) what type of job should I get in the city that is flexible? b) what borough should I live in? c) how do I go about getting an agent? d) can anyone recommend a good photographer for headshots? e) I heard if you join a union they'll pay you unemployment, how do I go about finding out more info about this?
Thank you so much, any advice you can give is greatly appreciated!
