Hi,

I am pretty new to this whole auditioning thing but I'm not dumb. Do you guys think that its odd for a director to ask you to audition for a love scene, wearing lingerie, no reading, nothing? I mean don't you think that if you are auditioning for a film you should do some sort of monologue or cold reading of some sort? I think I'm going to turn this audition down.

Odd? I don't really know.. I don't know why theres no reading, But I could understand the lingerie part because, they might want to see if you have the "right body" for that scene. Just like, they wouldn't have put an unattractive woman, with an unattractive body in the Monsters Ball scene with Halle Berry.

But, I don't understand the no reading part. maybe someone else can shed light on that part.

Is this an established director with previous works under his belt? If not, then I'd suggest either asking him more questions about the situation, or turn the audition down period.

Em sounds pretty freakin dodgy to me life to short to be taken advantage of, I'd skip it. A better audition will come along. x

I spoke with the guy again and he says that the reason he wants to audition for the love scene is to see if we (myself and the lead male) have chemistry. He says there is a script but that the right person will be able to tweak the charactar and make her character more real. He says no readings or monologues are needed for this audition.

how is it an audition if you aren't going to be reading ANYTHING? or are you reading from the play, whilst wearing lingerie? it sounds fishy to me. trust your instincts.

I wouldnt trust that audition. Where did you actually find it? Sounds to me like the guy wants to see what you look like in revealing clothing....then maybe offer it to you by seducing you or something. There's a lot of that crap out there. Just be careful and try to get as much info on this project as possible. Goodluck
