Hi there Briar!

I am pretty sure that Romeo (from Romeo & Juliet) was supposed to be 14. Other than that Oliver! based on the Dickens' novel Oliver Twist is probably a good choice too. If I think of any others I will post them here.

Gosh so many.

Bouncers/Perfect Pitch/Teachers - John Godber
Waiting for Godot - Samuel Beckett
Seasons Greetings - Alan Ayckbourne
The Cherry Orchard - Anton Chekhov
Thirst - Eugene O'Neill
Getting Married - George Bernard Shaw

Also look into Pinter, Berkoff, Edward Bond and of course, Shakespeare.

If you have just a few minutes to impress, do something within your age range and that 'fits' your character. If you have a great understanding of Shakespeare then go for it, otherwise steer clear. It can make or break you at auditions.

it might be worth getting a book of monologues from a library or bookshop. They have loads of stuff!

Try and be different, thats always a good move. When I auditioned for drama school, everyone went for the 'safe' options which can prove to be boring for the examiners.

Good luck!
