Hey Everyone,

My name is Alicia Raquel, hailing from Oakland, CA.

I've been acting in community based productions around the Bay area for a few years now, as well as other parts of the grassroots performance scene here. Two summers ago I attended California State Summer School for the Arts, and got a much more rigorous and industry focused set of skills than anything I've found in the San Francisco Bay Area. I loved it.

Some of my shorter term goals are to get myself into auditions and get some work experience, to find out more information about union options, and get into a good (and affordable) acting class. I am also a singer and interested in Musical Theater.

Bigger picture: I want to learn more about the the technical aspects of theater, though I am clear that I want to act or direct as my main activities. Way down the road I would like to run my own theater company (or be part of a collectively run company) that combines the community based, relevant social justice type theater the Bay Area is so good at with high quality and rigorous training. Also want to bring in music and dance, which are my other loves.

What I want from this site: to meet people! Network, get some advice and info and have a community to come back to.
