| I'm here! | | Hey Everyone, I'm Angie, as the name states lol Can't believe it was available Anyways, i'm a mom of two kids under 3, engaged to be married and i just turned 25. I need to do something with my life, and i've decided that sitting at home or finding a desk job is not for me!! I have absolutely no experience, unless you count the 3 minute scene in drama where a did a part from "A Mid-Summers Nights Dream", i don't count it. Even though i seem to have mellowed, being couped in my house, i have the positive energy that screen acting demands. I'm intending on getting a student loan and taking a 10 month screen acting coarse, its $10,000 ugh!)
Just thinking about getting up in front of a stage and auditioning makes my heart skip a beat, but i love it Like i used to tell myself in grade school when i was afraid to go up in front of the class, the only way you'll get embarrassed is if you don't do what your supposed to, talk. I was always jealous of those that could do it, but i realized, that others would be jealous of my outer calm, and have no idea of my inner feelings. After a while, it just comes naturally
Anyways, thats me. Anyone know of any actors that started out at a late age? |

Grats on making the decision to become an actress! I think you'll be great at it!
I think there are a lot of people who start acting at a late age, BUT you're 25 lol, that's not so late

| Re: I'm here! | | you right of coarse, its never to late! i was looking at an agency in town im in victoria, bc. We get our share of movies, though vancouver gets more... but again, its just a fairy away. Anyways, i was looking at the actors pics on the website, and nearly half of them are very near elderly! So this made me realize thats its all going to be fine |

| Re: I'm here! | | lol yes, well young at heart i'm sure A lot appeared to be nearing 60's and 70's. As for the school, its a process.... There are a few things i need to do first, pay some bills, find a sitter for my two kids, apply to the school, then apply to student loans so to make sure they'll cover it! but i would imagine in the next 6 months, seems like forever, but it will be even longer if i don't start now Otherwise, there are several classes on my area that range from a few hundred dollars for usually about 6 2hour classes.
But very soon, just as soon as i find a sitter, i'll be joining a theater group as volunteer stage help, and see where it goes from there, No experience is bad experience! Also, there are a few agencies who keep a Free list of background players.
Im in Canada btw, Victoria bc, right next to Vancouver, we get quite a few big production movies come through here luckily |

| Re: I'm here! | | I think the Stargate series was filmed up there, or at least some of it. Maybe you'll make your way into an episode as an alien!

| Re: I'm here! | | Your right! I just read that yesterday along with a long list of other tv shows that were/are filmed in/near vancouver. LOL yes, it would be hilarious to be an alien extra I was doing a search to see where is the best place in canada to nurse an acting career, and it was a toss up between Toronto and Vancouver, Toronto is Cold! So no, i'd prefer not to go there, they have hot muggy summers and very very cold winter, where-as here on Vancouver Island where i live, and Vancouver the city, we have Great weather all the time, it hardly snows, and almost never sticks, i'm not pro-snow! Mostly, it just rains in the winter, and the summers arn't very hot, there just... nice. Although, Vancouver has a horrible crime rate, worst in Canada so i've heard, i've only visited once, all the other times i was just driving through, far as i could tell, if you just stayed away from E. Hastings you'd be fine. Of course that exactly where we went, walked through 10 blocks of some pretty strange scary stuff, i was 16 at the time. They say Victoria is bad too, but not as far as i can tell.
Anyways, so the consensus was that Toronto is great, but Vancouver is better. Only a 4 day drive from LA too... Ok, well now i'm rambling lol |

| Re: I'm here! | | I just moved from upstate NY (that's what we call the rest of New York State that isn't NYC lol) to just north of San Francisco because I'm not pro-snow either. Weather was really harsh in the winter with a few weeks out of every winter that were at least -15F (-26C) and that's just too cold for lil ol' me.
We just got to California about 3 months ago and except for one week of 100F weather, it's been pretty nice.
If you get a role on Stargate you must A) take a picture of yourself on set and B) let us know when it airs.
Rambling is fine, I do it myself.
