Talking Hey! Just getting started!

Hey, what's goin' on? I finally moved out of my mom's to LA and I just got started with the whole auditioning thing! I went to a few I got from magazines and stuff, mainly for just background parts and bit stuff. Then I went online and found all this stuff for actors, and checked out some websites that put up your pics. I went to this site called seemyreels.com, and they let you put up your pic and a reel, but I don't know what to put on a reel, or how to make one that looks professional. Any tips? Thanx!

i've heard that speedreels.com is good (they'll shoot footage for a reel), but i haven't done it. also check out the sanford meisner center (www.themeisnercenter.com) for amazing training.

good luck!!

For what it's worth, I wouldn't worry too much about your reel yet. A reel is mainly a tool for agents to see you perform and are almost never used in casting (takes too long.)

As you gain experience, you will naturally gain more 'reel' material. Getting one put together is pretty easy, as there are a ton of editors out there who will provide you with this service.

Take your time and enjoy the ride, cuz' it's a long one! And I agree with Russ, check out the Meisner Center if you want some really top notch training out here.

Best of Luck!
