Hello, I don't usually post on forums, just read, but I thought I would take the plunge and say something. I have been acting for quite a few years now, but just started to take it seriously. I have been reading some of the posts and it seems this forum leans more towards the film side. I have only been an extra in one film so I really have no experience there. All of my acting has been in the theatre. I'm looking forward to learning more about acting for film, as it is something I would like to try. Well that is all.

Hello to you. Well you have one mark higher than me on breaking into film. I've never even been involved in one on an EXTRA level. Just community theatre. So, my suggestion. If you want to learn all you can about this side of the tree in entertainment, read some books. They're really helpful. Try your hand at writing. I myslef have written one short film [unproduced], a sci-fi/fantasy novel, and I have written the feature screenplay adaptation to that novel [currently under second revisions]. Then i'll try my hand at directing and the art department, and of course, acting. So I suggest trying loads of stuff. It'll pay off the more you know about the other departments! [esp. the Producer's side!]

Thanks for the advice. Right now theatre is my main focus, because it is all I have done. I act, direct, stage-manage, run lights and sound and am currently writing my first play. I love the theatre, but I also plan to explore film. Just to see if I like it.
