No worries... I am also passionate in my own techniques. I suppose I go it alone in my training. I find it so much more inspiring to refine... In the confines of one's own mind. I search my mind constantly for the personas within me that my soul chose to bar away from my conscious self. It is on my own that I can access those different "people" within myself. This is my training. Constantly looking within. Finding the principles of a villain, the pleasures a drunkard sees, the peace an angel spreads. Within us all are all these people, but we chose early on which ones to fight back and enclose within only our deepest soul's dungeon. I didn't chose a villain, drunkard, or am I not an angel. I am none of these, but could I find it within myself to "pretend" to be these "personalities"? Quite so. In fact, I can switch them on and off again within seconds now. Perhaps it was refining this technique while I be alone in the house. Perhaps it is the endless watching of films and characters day after day. Perhaps it is in my keen and constant observation of others. Yet perhaps, all three together. So, what I am saying it that, we can find these things within ourselves by ourselves, though it takes special care and meditation and ease to be able to accomplish. Practice, practice, practice. If a production company can't see this talent within you if it is yours, then they are the ones in for it. You know your own talent, to say that, is to say, you must know your "selves" within you and be able to tap into them at any moment. Practice this. Perhaps I should not have gone so far as to say acting school is a waste. School perhaps is the way most actors are taught in a different way than mine to tap into those "selves" but after some refinement, should'nt the ball in the court? In fact, should'nt the entire playground be yours? Well, perhaps this technique is beyond you or is not the way you wish to go about things. School is then for you, I suppose. I have refined my techniques after reading sections of acting books. Within my techniques are some of these acting exercises mentioned, but at the core. It is my self reflecting upon its selves. The other halves of me. I can be a little hard to switch from yourself and into the character of which you will portray, but with time and practice, any one can do it within a few seconds. It takes serious discipline.

I'm sorry if I seem to be attacking anyone, I'm just trying to show you lot another technique. MY technique, and if mastered, it will treat you well in years to come.

Hope you lot appreciate the input I have and will continue to provide to this forum.

Fate Bless,
SWK78

I truly love everything you are writing...it's why they call it an artform. Your approach seems very personal. Very unique to you.

Make sure that your technique doesn't alienate you when it comes to the business side of acting. Being able to jump in and out of all those characters is wonderful, the only thing that is of concern is what happens if and when it doesn't work on a set? That's when having been trained comes in handy.

I've learned to do it "my way" whenever possible. But there are times when the scene calls for something, the director needs it right away, and it's not what I prepared, and it's not familiar to me. In these cases, I rely solely on the techniques that I've learned from training in well established disciplines. It's the toolbox that I draw from when I can't do it from my core.

Gotta run, babies crying!
