Default What do you think of Steven Spielburg's Movies?

I think he's a great director, makes very action based movies, full of advetures and drama.

What do you guys think of him, I heard mostly good reviews, but some don't like him.

Alot of them I like, some I didn't, and some I haven't seen nor heard of. But overall I can't say I have anything against Spielberg. Catch Me If You Can and Saving Private Ryan were good movies. I had to go check his Filmography to find out everything else he did that I may have seen. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000229/

I just saw War of The Worlds, which Steven Spielburg directed. Very good movie, although I don't think it would have held together if Tom Cruise wasn't in it...

In general I think he's one of the great directors of our time. Nowadays anything with Spielburg on it is almost destined to be a Blockbuster!

Spelbierg made a lot of blockbuster movies, but only a few made an impact. I am appaled by the storylines of his movies, but if you talk about the effects, it's undeniably superb. But the story just disappoints me. One of which is the War of the Worlds. I was like "was that the end of the movie?"

Not all his movies are that great but he made some fantastic movies. Camera views are always great which certainly is a plus.

agreed, seems like one of the greatest, will definately go down in history of films and movies, and i liked Saving private ryan as well, great movie, the ending made it all the better because of the realism (unlike a disney movie).

He's a great director, but I'm not a fan of all of his movies.

I heard he wanted to direct Harry Potter and make it a regular school setting (meaning no Hogwarts or anything)..which is a thumbs down. This may have been a rumor though.

Well he couldnt change what the author of the book wrote that much. Though much was changed.

I usually like most of his stuff.
I think the storylines are often actually very good.

IMO, some of his movies are a bore... example being Schindler's List... worst still, it was in black & white...

John Woo on the other hand has made many action movies and they are pretty cool to watch...
