Definetely LoTR, The Shawshank Redemption, A Beautiful Mind and Dead Poets Society.

Each movie I own has a different feel and is the best in its own right, so it is hard to choose.

I haven't seen any of those movies. I think i've heard of Dead Poets Society though.

You should, they are classics. A beautiful mind is the life of John Nash, The Shawshank Redemption is with Morgan Freeman and Tim Burton if I am not mistaken, about a prison break. And Dead Poets Society is about a new teacher at Eton who has some unconventional teaching methods for those days and teaches poetry his own way in stead of from the scruffy old books.

Hmm for me the list is long but my all time favorite is
" Armageddon " Bruce rocks

1) Matrix trilogy
2) Jurrasic park (except 4)
3) Evil Dead (Except 4)
4) Brain Dead ( Did I said gore :P)
5) Independence day
6) Anaconda
well you can add all sci fi and horror movies

Dirty Dancing
Braveheart
Forrest Gump
Gorrilla's in the Mist

actually the list could go on but I can't decide whats my number 1 though its to hard.

Noi was simply amazing I'm in love with that movie
I think every one should be forced to watch it

Another good movie was out foxed i enjoyed that quite a bit

well my previous post was English movie and In Hindi (Indian Movie) i love:

1) Border
2) Sarfarosh
3) Lagaan
4) Dil chata kai
5) Koi mil gaya
and i loved that thai movie "Ong Back" too it was pure raw fun

Theres so many movies with different genres, its impossible to decide just ONE. I've never had a favorite. But I do own a lot of the movies listed by everyone here.

it seems to me that in order for a movie to reach the almost unreachable rank of favorite, it has to have been a part of your life for a good many years... like one you grew up with. one you've just memorized every facial expresion to...and ever line, and little action. its the hardest question someone can ask i think... but im a freak like that haha.
some of my top favorites are... Braveheart, Willow, The Last of the Mohicans, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... and about 1000 others... i shouldnt even have started... haha

my favorite ever movie is life of brian. i can watch that over and over again and i always find it hillarious
