Post Shadow in the Fire

Hello, all,

It's been some time since I've peeked back onto this site, and I apologize for my absence. It seems that the look of this place has changed since I was last here, and I must say it looks astounding, no?

Anyway, I just wanted to give you guys a little bit of what I've been up to lately. I've completed my first year of college, and I'm excited about returning this year for more great fun. I'm a Video Production major, which obviously means I'm learning the loops on how to actually go about doing my jobs on a film set as part of the crew and not the cast.

When I was at college I had a Play Analysis class, and I finally got to read Hamlet. Well, reading it sparked an idea that developed into what is now the first play I have written, and I am now directing and acting in it in my hometown with the community theater. Our performances are set in late August, and I know it'll be one hell of a show. Even with the problem of needing to recast the lead male character, I am confident that all with come together in the end nicely. So, I am extending an open invitation to all those who may be around my area or passing through to stop on by to watch an amazing show with a limited small town budget. It'll be Aug 22, 23, and 24. For additional information on times and ticket sales, message me and I'll get the info to you when I know it, as I know it.

So, then for the synopsis: Set in the fabled English country called Nemrija, a King has a dream that one of his three daughters has killed him. When he wakes he sets immediately to unveiling the traitorous daughter after speaking with the royal family's trusted prophet. And so, the search becomes an obession, as everything seems to revolve around a French count that one daughter loves, one daughter deceives, and one daughter mocks. But as he envelops himself with all these suspicions, he just may lose himself along the way.

It's a kind of Shakespearian-type drama. I often explain it in the way that if you take Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, and Romeo&Juliet and smack them all together with a bit of my own touch (and influences from Josh Groban's music and the story of Elizabeath) then you have "Shadow in the Fire."

I have a blooper reel of early rehearsals posted on my youtube account at YouTube - violetandsilverskies's Channel if you want to take a look at that.

Well, then, everybody have a wonderful night, and I just want to say that IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK!

Later, and Fate Bless,
SWK78
