I stumbled across a neat service a couple weeks ago and wanted to pass it along to fellow thespians out there! Were you just cast in a role and are researching your character? Did you just play a part and would love to tell the world about the amazing performance? Have you ever thought it would be neat to have an online archive of all the roles you played to share with friends and family - available for the world to see? A place where you could search by show or character and meet people from around the globe who were cast in the same role?
If yes, you may be interested in a new resource that just launched for actors (
I Was Cast - An Archive For Character Roles!). I was CAST is a place where actors can create a unique character page for all their performances. Each performance page is an opportunity to share stories, bloopers, photos, videos, audio clips and more.... Perhaps you have some advice for any future actors out there who may be cast in a particular role...
This site is 100% free for all actors (make a page for all your performances) and was developed because the service was needed and would be helpful to the acting community. Help build this new resource and be sure to give them your feedback/suggestions. I know the site is relatively new but they do encourage feedback. If there are features you want, let them know. I was excited to see this as a new resource and look forward to using it for my next production. Just passing it along.
