what is the background on this guy. did he take any acting classes at all?
He now commands a salary of fifthteen million per film. I guess that is the business side of this profession. If you have the body and the looks and the persona, a whole new world is opened up to you.

I would say that The Rock's success in film goes right past his body, looks and persona and right into his 'Q' score. Now, this is not to denigrate his professionalism, as he has clearly endeavored to become an actor that can handle the rigors of working on a professional soundstage, which is no small task.

The Rock without his professional wrestling background is just another good looking guy waiting tables and trying to get by. As to whether or not he's had any acting training...no idea.

But, he was a heck of a popular wrestler...=)

Jokingly, many say that wrestling is fake, so if that's true, then wrestling was an act for him and that was his training... But honestly, I have no idea. His best movie yet I think was The Rundown. Hilarioius. He's good at comedy. I didn't really like oh, what was it... ? Walking Tall? Something like that... But yeah, it was not all that great.. His acting wasn't that great in it, I don't think. Scorpion King was okay too, but my opinion is still on Rundown.

Why hate on the rock? I notice Hollywood has a need for all types of actors. I've seem some ugly guys in leading role. Look at Steve Buscemi. He is rich and talented as heck.
