Hey there, I read your "My Intro" post.....

>Im just getting started in the Acting industry and im looking for like minded >people that are positive to share, learn ,talk and hang with.

Kool, I'm serious, and im sharing....and i luv to talk!!! lol

>Im serious about getting into acting and although im starting kind of late , >im happy im starting now.

It's never too late my friend, I am 17 and am writing books while i wait for better acting opportunities to arrive, or when i am able to afford to go after them.

And it's good that you've started to build up your resume with just those school things. I've seriously been into acting since i was 13 back in 2002, but i liked doing things before that, too. My current resume is below, which includes acting, directing, and writing(script superivisor) credits. WVTE stands for West Virginia Theare East (a community theatre company of which i am part).

::::Resume::::

* = Actress ; ** = Director/Crewman ; *** = Playwright

*(Christmas play[cant remember name]) - as Tinsel SCHOOL 1998
*A Christmas Carol - as Scrooge's young girlfriend SCHOOL 2000
*I'll be Home for Christmas (Musical) - as Angie WVTE 2004
*/**Gift of the Magi - Mrs. Porter/Madame Sophie and Student Director SCHOOL 2005
*Dreams of Broadway (Musical Review) - as Lydia, Queen Titania, and
girl from Sound of Music WVTE 2005
*(A spooky train ride show) - as Pauline (from Perils of Pauline) WVTE 2005
*Beauty of a Murder (Dinner Theatre) - as Goody Knight WVTE 2005
**Adaptation of an Everwood episode - as Director and having all Stage
Managing Duties and as Narrator
SCHOOL 2006
*Fairy Tale Academy - as Peasant Girl SCHOOL 2006
*Much Ado About Nothing - as Don Pedro WVTE 2006
I have also written an unpublished novel.

>O im also in college but i dont know if im going to finish because its not >needed to do my acting career. anyone know what i mean? I mean sure its >good to get at least an associates degree but if its not relavate then whats >the use....just to say you got it...or somethign to fall back on.

I dont want to go to college myself, but my mum is making me do it next year. I want to go to film school to study film directing, producing, and visual design (CGI [computer generated images]).

>Im very motivated to get some momentum byuilt up i acting. Im looking >forward to making some friends...cheers

Excellent, excellent. Motivation is the key here, and raw nerve. And hey if you're looking to make friends....im right here for ya!!

>also people tell me i need to get pictures professonally done and it may cost >a lot

Yeah, for actors it is a good idea for the prof. shots of you. To get your foot in a door, first of all, you have to look decent, and a prof. photographer will know how to make you look your very best. It is costly though, i read somewhere, that its costs like almost a thousand bucks, cause you see there's all different poses you take, and all the different copies of all those different poses. And you have to pay an arm and "two" legs for them. It'll cost you, this profession, this way of life, but I THINK IT'S BLOODY WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY AND EVERY DROP OF SWEAT!!!

And for your question of how to build a resume, well look at mine. if you have the resources at your disposal, as i found too late in life i fear, you'll get much accomplish in a year or two (as many of my big performances happened in 2005 and 2004). So yeah anything that you think you might like to do, do it, try for it, mate!

And also, how i study acting is by watching my favourite films over and over and over and (you get the point) until you can listen to the soundtrack and see the film in your head frame-by-frame. Let's say, my ultimate fav film, The Last Samurai, I may watch ten times, but each time i'll look at something different someone different. I'll study everything that goes into the film. And i read LOTS AND LOTS of books and articles. Ive got a ton of books for acting, screenwriting and directing, and they've been LOADS of help.

In other words when youre not working on a project, its good to STUDY STUDY STUDY. Get PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.

So hey, if you ever need something Im on AIM late at night sometimes, between 11PM and 1AM. Sometimes more early in the day, too. And I'm in WV in USA, so I think we're in the same time zone, yoou being in TN. Or drop me a line on this thread.

Keep in touch man!!!
