Default agent wants money

my agent wants me to go to these conventions they hold in different places.. now im new to all this.. but she wants me to pay anywhere from 4-6 grand for each of these conventions. seriously if i had that kind of money it would be invested in other things.... conventions like IMTA and a few others.. are these worth going too? has any of your agents told you the same info? is my agent trying to get money out of me? ultimately what do i get out of these conventions? is this all a scam?

Try to find out what agents are/are not allowed to request from you and all that legal limbo. Im really no expert but he or she should clearly understand that if your a striving actor then you can't afford to go to all of these conventions. Esp if ur not guarenteed a job! Agents also know the ins and out of new actors and sometimes might request of their clients to do things clients don't know their not obligated2do. So read your stuff..ask him or her2find u conventions or worskshops more economical and affordiable to ur budget! Good luck hope I helped sum

O btw...ask her or him questions! After all u r paying them.

That sounds highly suspicious..
Agents should not charge you, they should only get commission of the jobs they help you get. If your agent asks you for money, you need another agent..
About conventions.. your agent should know you well enough to know that you can't really afford to splash out like that. If he wants you to pay money for a convention tell him to get you a paid job with a sallary that will cover it. u.u
