NYFA or New york film academy, seems like a nice school.

Can anyone comment on it?

It seems that they focus mainly on the film making process, rather than acting.

I want to study acting at a good school but this is all I can find on the internet.

How else can I find classes or school in the New york area?

I've heard the same things... that it is slightly over-priced and mostly for film makers (as the name says) rather than actors. They do have an acting program, but I don't know anyone that would vouge for it or even recommend it.

A list of schools in the New York area. The one that sticks out to me is Julliard, I've heard that name many of times. Julliard seems to focus more on the acting part I believe.

Julliard is at the top of most peoples list, depending on what type of Acting their into... and it's a great place; but it requires hard work to get in. If you want the best, that's your place.

If you want to go to a class or classes for Film or TV acting that are easier to get into, check out TVI Actors Studio. They are reasonably priced and you can pay per class...

Juliard is the best, but its not for everyone, if you want to go like Blarian said its gonna take a lot of work and determination to be accepted

heh, I gave up on Julliard when my Drama teacher in school didn't pick me for the school play.
