Re: does age mean anything? | | This is a common miss conception that seems to affect many actors today... You could be 67 and still be able to act. Yes you will get type casted often as older parts, but that doesn't matter because it won't effect how you are perceived from the audience, the audience will always look at your performance and not age. Also just because you want to go into acting doesn't require you take "training" or "tests". However, getting in to stage schools and theatre companies is the best way of getting in to stage and build up your acting ability... Then when you feel confident enough on your own skill go for small/ big auditions. Don't automatically go straight for big auditions because you will learn through stage school's the process of auditioning and when you don't get the part you would like how to deal with that. If you just automatically go for big auditions because in some cases you may feel so disheartned that you will think acting isn't for you and that judgement in anyone's case is incorrect as its your first audition. |
