I've just finished reading Stella Adler's The Art of Acting. It's written by Howard Kissel and it's basically a transcript of Stella's acting classes. It's divided into weeks, as it was a once a week acting class when she actually gave the lectures.

It's a very very good guidebook on Method Acting. It takes about all the fundamentals, and then some. I'd highly recommend it for any serious acting student.

If you didn't know, Stella Adler studied under Constantin Stanislavsky and they are both highly known and respected. Stanislavsky basically and literally wrote the book on a lot of the principles used in various methods of acting today.

Also try Ivana Chubbucks : The Power of the Actor. Its a method she had invented herself, and she teaches many powerful actors even to this day. It's very descriptive and even recounts times when she works with famous actors or actresses. You can get it on Amazon.com as well for around $15 bucks. i highly recommend it. Enjoy!!
