Has anyone read [url=http://www.redbirdstudio.com/AWOL/acting2.html]AWOL. Is it any good if you are just starting out as an actor, or do you consider that books written by 'known experts' have the upperhand on this source of information? | ||

I have not read AWOL. My recommendation is to find the most PRACTICAL books you can about acting to start, along with an acting class. Then as your experience and mind for the craft grows, you can start getting deeper and deeper into a particular technique. Here are my recommendations: "A practical handbook for the actor" by Melissa Bruder. "The art of acting" by Stella Adler. Then, a very important and informative book: "An actor's guidebook for a successful career in los angeles" By Judy Kerr (this book has so much great advice information, it should not be made available to the public.) | ||
