Default Re: what are your favorite stage plays???

Midsummer is very good, I agree. We did a scene from it in one of our plays. I played Titania [it was the part where Bottom is turned into a donkey head!] And I've also played Don Pedro in Much Ado... Sadly, though I've been in plays, I've never watched one. However, among my favourites are: [Shakespeare]: HAMLET!!! [a MUST read for a theatre major!], the Merchant of Venice [loved it! and the film adaptation with Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons is VERY VERY well done, I recommend it!.. or Kenneth Branagh shakespeare adaptations, he does shakespeare very well indeed]... Macbeth is always a good one to know as well... Other plays...? I've read Antigone by Sopochles, and it was really good actually, even though it's rather short [very much a tragedy]. I'm also looking forward to reading King Lear... Also, we'll be reading Odepius Rex and Lysistrata in my Play Analysis class, looking very much forward to it.

[If you haven't read Hamlet, and you take theatre courses, I REALLY suggest you read it. I know what eventually will happen in the end, and so it's been severely spoiled for me. And it is so good! I'm looking forward to reading the middle parts to see how all this comes about. So, yeah, you have to read it. Don't let them spoil it for you like it was for me... And, I'd been intending to read it for years... :`( ]
