Well Michael Cain has made a forty year career out of "looking at the camera" it truly depends on the style of the show. He, as well as Jude Law among others, have used "asides" directly to the camera to great effect. I don't think acting can be broken down to "tricks" like juggling. It is essentially storytelling, conducted in the first person or as I like to tell my students "Pretending on Purpose" check out dramorama.com for some great tips! |
